The Owner / Managing Director of this regionally-based construction company has ambitious plans to grow his business and buy additional premises doubling the size of the production facilities. The business has operated successfully for ten years and has benefited in the past from the high growth in the new property market.
The Managing Director identified that a need for additional expertise to assist him through the period of growth and to consider strategic and corporate issues.
Castle Interim Management, the interim management provider, was contacted. They carefully selected a shortlist of three capable managers. The MD interviewed each and made his selection.
The interim manager worked with a brief to enhance business strategy on a special project and to consolidate internal procedures. Within days he and the MD established a strong working relationship and an acquisition is now under consideration. On this basis the assignment moved on quickly and soon realised the key objectives.
A regionally-based Manufacturing Company needed a Production Manager to improve productivity and processes in this family-run business. The Interim manager was selected to carry out these improvements and quickly brought his extensive manufacturing experience to bear on the issues facing the company.
He turned around production, improved work force scheduling and delivery times to clients and successfully introduced lean manufacturing processes.
The Interim Manager, said of the assignment: “This very successful assignment resulted in both client and their customers satisfaction through significant improvements in product quality and reduced leads times.
We deployed “Total Productive Manufacturing Techniques” as part of our lean toolkit, thus enabling the workforce to double in many instances machine and manpower productivity.
This outcome was achieved over a six-month period through coaching and mentoring employees across all operational functions and at all levels, without increases in overheads or headcount.”
The Chief Executive of a local Children’s Charity was undertaking a major change management programme. There was the need to restructure and re-organise the Finance function, give stability, review the financial management systems and handle the financial year end.
On receiving the detailed instructions of the assignment, Castle Interim Management carried out a search and selection for suitable managers, interviews were quickly arranged and an experienced interim Finance Director was chosen. Subsequently an HR Director was also assigned as part of the change programme.
